The Arab company UASC is going to insert in the service of the Mediterranean Sea ships of 13.000 TEUs and it has already ordered 5 ships of 19.000 TEUs, the Chinese CSCL, instead, is inserting ships with a capacity of 14.000 TEUs.

SECH terminal ( Container terminal of Genoa’s port), meanwhile, is preparing to receive these ships with greater sizes renewing its own cranes in order to operate on ships of different sizes without any kind of difficulties and commissioning a technical analysis ( to a Danish society) to promote the terminal with shipping companies.

The success of this project represent a very important growth for SECH terminal of Genoa’s port because at present day container ships of these sizes can only land in Voltri, La Spezia and Trieste ports; but the final confirmation rests with the Port authority and with the Pilot Corps of Genoa that are meticulously evaluating essential details such as the ships’ radius of rotation, the height of the seabed of the harbor and the quantity of water move.
