The aim of the new alliance is that of be more competitive in a tough trade market, expanding services, rationalizing routes and networks, optimizing the use of fleets to increase competitiveness.
Clients of the company, (underlined the 5 vectors) will benefit from a better quality of the service. Moreover, the alliance will keep adopting measures to decrease the consumption of bunkers in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
At present Evergreen Line, with over 150 container ships, is the 4th shipping company of the ship transport sector. The other four partner fleets of the new CKYHE have a total capacity of nearly 2,1 million TEUs.
The total capacity of CKYHE will be of nearly 3 million TEUs but it’s going to be exceeded by the first three vectors of the trade (Marsk Line, Mediterranean Shipping Compani-MSC e Cma Cgm)which have a total capacity of 6,5 million TEUs and by the G6 (alliance formed by APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine, HMM, Mitsui OSK Lines, MOL, Hapag Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha, NYK and Orient Overseas Container Line-OOCL) with a total capacity of 3,2 million TEUs and that, together with the entrance and contribution of Zim, might reach 3,5 million TEUs.
