THE NEW BOZBERG GALLERY

The Swiss Federal Office approved the start of the works for the construction of the Bozberg gallery, one of the twelve galleries that will constitute the new railway inside the Gotthard Pass for the rail transportation of the semi-trailer with a maximum height of 4 mt.

The project, funded with 350 million Swiss francs allocated by the Swiss Parliament , consists of a replacement of the existing tunnel Bözberg ( currently a double track gallery unsuitable for rail transport ) with a newly built tunnel between Effingen and Schinznach - Dorf .

Among all the works carried out on the Gotthard Pass this is definitely the biggest and most important in view for connecting Chiasso to Basel 2020 .
